Girnar hill is ten thousand steps to the top. I left my shoes at the top and somebody stole them. Then I walked a few thousand steps down the mountain like a barefoot Hindu pilgrim. Then I found them. Somebody just left them on the stairs.

On a mountain in Than
Baba on his head. A man once stood on his head for 12 years in Than.
We slept overnight at the monastery in Than. No one spoke any English except the wisecracking holy man who kept saying "no bus." Which was supposed to be a joke, but turned out to be true. We rode home hanging off the side of some guy's tractor. Everybody who saw us waved and had a good laugh.
Babas of the past.
